Brake Press Operator Location: Lancing, West Sussex

• Monday-Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
• Contract: Permanent

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join a well-established manufacturing team based in Lancing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with sheet metal or engineering production experience who is looking for a long-term role with consistent hours and great working conditions.

The successful candidate will operate CNC Brake Press machinery to produce high-quality metal components, working to drawings and ensuring accuracy throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC Brake Press machinery.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Carry out quality checks on finished products using measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Select appropriate tooling and materials for each job.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow all H&S procedures.
• Identify and report any machine issues or production defects.
• Work as part of a friendly and efficient production team to meet deadlines and output targets.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience operating a CNC Brake Press (Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, or similar).
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to long-term employment.
