Commercial Finance Manager / Liverpool / Salary £65,000 - £70,000

The Opportunity

As Commercial Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering clear, insightful financial information across sales, margin, and operational performance - helping the business understand not just what is happening, but why.

You'll partner with senior stakeholders across the organisation, providing challenge, guidance, and support to drive performance and achieve key commercial objectives.

Alongside this, you'll take ownership of reporting processes while coaching and developing your team, helping to embed best practice and continuous improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver monthly management accounts across multiple entities
• Lead and develop a small team, driving performance and accountability
• Take full ownership of month-end, ensuring robust and timely reporting
• Deliver meaningful variance analysis with clear commercial insight
• Produce weekly and monthly KPI packs for senior leadership
• Analyse sales, margin and cost performance to identify opportunities
• Provide detailed business unit and profitability analysis
• Partner with budget holders to challenge spend and drive efficiencies
• Support investment decisions through business cases and financial modelling
• Contribute to senior reporting, audit processes, and year-end delivery
• Drive improvements in reporting, automation, and data accuracy

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong background in commercial finance and management accounting
• Experience managing or mentoring others, with a collaborative leadership style
• Advanced Excel skills with strong modelling and analytical capability
• Highly commercial, with the confidence to influence and challenge
• Clear communicator who can translate numbers into actionable insight
• Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Experience within retail, FMCG, or multi-site environments would be highly advantageous.
