Temporary Accounts Assistant | Poole | £13 per hour | Office-Based

We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join a busy and fast-paced finance team based in Poole. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some accounts experience—or someone looking to build a career in finance—to gain valuable, hands-on experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.

You’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, gaining exposure across both purchase ledger and wider accounts processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing a high volume of purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Matching, batching, and coding invoices
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
• Assisting with payment runs and supplier payments
• Supporting credit control activities, including chasing outstanding payments where required
• Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts
• Handling supplier and customer queries in a professional and timely manner
• Assisting with bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting month-end processes and general finance administration
• Providing ad-hoc support to the wider finance team

About You

• Previous experience within a finance or accounts role is desirable, but not essential
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines
• Basic Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
• A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
