The Company
My client is a market-leading supplier of premium related gifts. Following a period of significant global expansion across B2B and B2C channels, we are seeking an experienced International Key Account Manager to join our dynamic Coventry-based team. They pride themselves on a "can-do" culture where every team member contributes to their collective strategy and creative success.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth within our existing international portfolio while strategically acquiring high-value new business globally. This is a hybrid role requiring a blend of remote work, office-based collaboration, and international travel to visit key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Manage and scale a diverse portfolio of international accounts, executing sector-specific sales plans to maximise growth.
- Business Development: Identify and secure new partnerships across key sectors, including Tourism, Travel Retail, Hampers, Multiples, and Wholesale/Distribution.
- End-to-End Sales Oversight: Lead the full sales lifecycle—from initial presentation and range reviews to monitoring global supply chain movements in coordination with the planning team.
- Compliance & Logistics: Navigate regional documentation, regulatory compliance, and complex global supply chain requirements to ensure seamless delivery.
- Market Intelligence: Act as a regional expert, feeding back trends and technical requirements to the design and production teams to ensure product relevance in international markets.
- Exhibitions: Represent my client at major UK and international trade shows to strengthen existing relationships and prospect for new business.
- Existing Clients vs New Business: approximately 70% existing 30% new business.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with a proven track record of meeting high-growth targets in a B2B environment. You should possess:
- International Expertise: Essential experience in global sales, with a robust understanding of regional compliance and international logistics. Exposure and experience within Asia Pacific or USA & Canada markets would be advantageous.
- Strategic Communication: The ability to influence decision-makers at all levels, from owner-operators to executives in multinational corporations.
- Operational Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint). Familiarity with Sage systems is advantageous.
- Sector Knowledge: Experience in food gifting or the wider gift market is highly desirable but not essential.
- Agility: A collaborative mindset suited to a small, fast-paced team environment.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
- Valid Passport for international travel.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills appropriate for high-level commercial negotiations.
