About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in the Liverpool area. You will have a vital role that involves classroom teaching and curriculum development, with a strong emphasis on safety, creativity, and student progress.

Design and Technology Teacher

Location: Liverpool, L13

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Pay: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons
  • Adapt lessons for a wide range of abilities and learning needs
  • Provide clear demonstrations and structured activities
  • Mark work, give constructive feedback, and track pupil progress
  • Ensure all equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
  • Supervise students closely during practical sessions to ensure safe working practices

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
  • Ability to provide references that cover at least 24 months worked and where possible 2 roles where you have worked with children
