We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Deputy Shop Manager, who loves working with people, to work 22.5 hours per week (3 days) on a Fixed Term Contract until 21st August 2027.
Located in Cardigan, our well-established shop is friendly and is at the heart of the local community.
About the shop:
Our Cardigan shop has been a valued part of the busy High Street for over 20 years. Store Manager Diane and her family were among the Hospice’s very first fundraisers, and this long-standing connection is reflected in the team’s ongoing dedication to the charity.
While the current store may be small, it certainly makes a big impact. Every inch of space is used creatively, and the team’s passion for sustainability ensures that very little goes to waste. Their skills help drive strong income, with a particularly popular jewellery section and a well-stocked haberdashery area offering a wide and varied selection.
About the role:
As a Deputy Shop Manager you'll also support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and contribution of the shop, by meeting agreed KPIs and overseeing all aspects of day-to-day operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, Gift Aid processes, maintaining excellent shop standards and delivering excellent customer service.
The role involves leading and developing a team of staff and volunteers and ensuring procedural compliance, while promoting Ty Hafan’s values and acting as an ambassador within the local community. The Deputy Shop Manager also contributes to wider charity initiatives, maintains strong communication with central teams, and supports the organisation’s income-generation goals by ensuring a commercially effective, safe, and welcoming shop environment.
You will be required to work 3 days per week Monday to Sunday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
About you:
We are looking for someone with retail or customer facing experience who is able to support the Shop Manager in delivering targets and objectives. You will be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, strong organisation skills, a drive to provide excellent service and share responsibility for the performance of the shop.
You enjoy working with people and can quickly build positive relationships and demonstrate compassion for customers, volunteers, colleagues, and the local community. You’re personable, professional and bring warmth and enthusiasm to every interaction.
