We are seeking a high-performing experienced Analyst to join our European Financial Sponsors Coverage team in London. This is a lean, high-impact team that acts as the central hub for the firm’s engagement with the private equity community across Europe. The role offers significant exposure to senior bankers, sector teams and leading financial sponsors, with the opportunity to contribute to origination efforts and strategic client coverage.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting sponsor relationships, generating insights and coordinating closely with sector teams to identify opportunities and maximise value for our clients.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Keeping up to date with our sector teams; maintaining visibility on target companies, active mandates and pipeline opportunities.
  2. Track and analyse financial sponsor activity, including investments, exits, fundraising and portfolio developments.
  3. Conduct in-depth research on existing and prospective sponsor clients, including investment strategies, sector focus, and portfolio performance.
  4. Support the preparation of high-quality pitch materials, sponsor profiles, marketing documents and strategic client presentations.
  5. Assist in developing client coverage plans, meeting briefings and actionable insights to drive engagement with sponsors.
  6. Maintain and enhance internal databases, CRM systems and sponsor intelligence resources.
  7. Coordinate meeting logistics, prepare summaries and ensure timely follow-ups on client interactions.
  8. Work closely with deal teams to ensure alignment on sponsor-related opportunities and intelligence.
  9. Ensure all activities are following applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Our ideal candidate would have:

  1. Strong academic background with a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  2. At least 18 months of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Private Equity Firm (M&A experience preferred)
  3. Demonstrated interest in Private Equity and Financial Sponsor Coverage
  4. Solid understanding of Investment Banking products, transaction processes and regulatory environment
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce client-ready materials
  6. Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  7. Strong commercial judgement and awareness of market dynamics
  8. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  9. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  10. Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Dealcloud) is advantageous but not essential
