Hull & Machinery Broker Technician (Hybrid) - c£40,000Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hull & Machinery Broker Technician to join a growing and collaborative marine broking team in a hybrid role based in the London insurance market. This position will suit an individual with around 2 years' experience in a technical broking support role within either Hull & Machinery or Aviation insurance who is looking to develop into a more client-facing position. Working closely with Brokers, Clients and Underwriters, you will play a key role in the preparation and processing of market documentation, supporting placements and renewals, and ensuring the smooth handling of day-to-day technical operations. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and confidence liaising directly with the market. Experience using White Space, Global XB and/or Novidea is highly desirable.Key Responsibilities
Produce and process market documentation including slips, endorsements, MRCs, evidence of cover, debit notes and closing documentation.
Support Brokers with new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments.
Liaise directly with Underwriters, Clients and internal stakeholders on technical and processing matters.
Attend underwriting meetings alongside Brokers where required.
Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant and produced within agreed timelines.
Monitor and manage placement progress and market responses.
Maintain accurate records within broking systems including White Space, Global XB and/or Novidea.
Assist with premium processing, credit control queries and general post-placement activities.
Work collaboratively with Brokers to ensure excellent client service delivery.
Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and internal procedures.
Support operational improvements and contribute to efficient team workflows.
What They Are Looking For
Approximately 2 years' experience within the London insurance market in a Broker Technician or similar technical support role.
Experience within Hull & Machinery insurance is preferred, although Aviation insurance backgrounds will also be considered.
Experience producing slips and other London Market documentation.
Working knowledge of White Space, Global XB and/or Novidea.
Strong understanding of London Market processes and procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with Brokers and Underwriters.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
A proactive and team-oriented approach with a willingness to develop within a client-facing role.
