Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Northwich. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to Key Stage 2 pupils, ensuring all children are supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their full potential.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 3.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and learning.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and support pupil attainment.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils.
Classroom Management
  • Establish clear expectations and routines to maintain a calm, purposeful classroom environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Manage resources effectively to enhance learning experiences.
Pastoral Care
  • Support the personal, social, and emotional development of pupils.
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing learning environment.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leaders.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events.
Professional Development
  • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Keep up to date with curriculum developments and teaching strategies.
Person SpecificationEssential Criteria
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 (or strong placement experience for ECTs).
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate pupils of varying abilities.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience teaching Year 3.
  • Knowledge of phonics and lower KS2 transition.
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with assessment and tracking systems.
