An ambitious educational setting in Cambridge is seeking to appoint an exceptional Director of Employability & Entrepreneurship to lead and shape a whole-school approach to employability, careers education and enterprise from Year 7 to Year 13.

This is a senior, permanent role with strategic influence, ideal for someone passionate about preparing young people for success in further study and the world of work.

The Opportunity

You will develop and deliver a forward-thinking Employability and Entrepreneurship Strategy aligned with the school’s vision and values, ensuring employability, innovation and enterprise are embedded across the curriculum and wider school life. Working closely with senior leaders, governors, staff and external partners, you will drive measurable impact, strong destinations and inclusive access for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement a whole-school employability and entrepreneurship strategy.
  • Embed employability and entrepreneurial skills across subjects in collaboration with teaching teams.
  • Ensure high-quality, inclusive careers education, aligned with statutory guidance and the Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Develop clear progression pathways for employability and enterprise skills from Year 7–13.
  • Oversee work experience, mentoring, enterprise activity and employer engagement.
  • Build strong partnerships with employers, universities, alumni and professional organisations.
  • Monitor impact, analyse data and produce reports for senior leaders and governors.
  • Provide targeted guidance to pupils through one-to-one support, workshops and events.

The Ideal Candidate

You will bring experience from employability, careers, recruitment, talent development, innovation or education, with a strong understanding of labour market trends and the skills young people need to thrive. You will be a strategic thinker, confident working with senior stakeholders, and able to influence across a complex organisation.

Experience working with young people or within an educational environment is desirable but not essential. A strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil development is essential.
