Stock Condition Surveyor – Housing Association


Comuno Talent Partners is working with a national housing association who are looking to recruit a Stock Condition Surveyor on an initial temporary 3 month contract. You will conduct a mixture of desktop surveys and site-based surveys that could require travel to different areas of the Country with mileage paid from home.


Duties – Stock Condition Surveyor – Housing Association:

  • Undertake stock condition surveys across residential properties, capturing accurate component lifecycle and condition data
  • Assess internal and external building elements including kitchens, bathrooms, roofs, windows, doors and building fabric
  • Identify and report on defects, HHSRS concerns and potential compliance issues
  • Collect and validate asset data using handheld technology and asset management systems
  • Produce clear and accurate survey reports and recommendations
  • Liaise with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders professionally and effectively
  • Assist with damp & mould investigations, void inspections and additional property surveys where required
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of asset data quality and surveying processes


Person Specification – Stock Condition Surveyor – Housing Association:

  • Previous experience carrying out stock condition surveys within social housing
  • Strong understanding of building construction, property defects and lifecycle replacement planning
  • Experience using asset management systems and mobile surveying technology
  • Knowledge of HHSRS and housing health & safety requirements
  • Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise surveys effectively
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data collection and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication and resident engagement skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the housing portfolio
  • Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Asset Management or related discipline or significant demonstrable experience
  • Asbestos Awareness qualification is desirable
  • Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification advantageous
