About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and numerate individual to join our donations processing team on a temporary basis. This role plays a vital part in ensuring donations are accurately processed, recorded, and allocated in line with financial and business rules, supporting the organisation’s fundraising activities.
You will work in a busy office environment handling high volumes of donations and financial data, liaising with colleagues to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Review donations and supporting documentation, accurately allocating income to the correct campaign, cost centre, product, and donor on CRM and/or finance systems
- Upload and process donation data feeds from third-party platforms, direct debits, and banked income
- Set up and maintain donor records accurately on the CRM system
- Process credit card donations in line with financial and business procedures
- Receive, handle, and reconcile cash, cheques, CAF vouchers, and other donation items, ensuring appropriate controls are followed
- Reconcile donations to the accounting system and ensure prompt banking
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on donation processing, receipting, and financial rules
Essential skills and experience:
- Good level of financial competence and numeracy
- Proven experience of bank reconciliations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
Desirable:
- Experience using finance and/or fundraising systems
- Knowledge of CRM systems
- Understanding of the charity or not-for-profit sector
