Thornbury Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected St. James’s Place Partner Practice based in Glasgow to recruit a Trainee IFA Administrator.

The Role

As a Trainee IFA Administrator, you will provide administrative support to Financial Advisers and Paraplanners, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice while delivering a high standard of service to clients.

This position offers hands-on exposure to all areas of financial planning administration, including investments, pensions, protection, and client servicing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Financial Advisers with day-to-day administration
  • Preparing and processing client documentation and applications
  • Maintaining accurate client records and updating internal systems
  • Liaising with clients, providers, and third parties professionally and efficiently
  • Assisting with meeting preparation and follow-up actions
  • Managing incoming calls, emails, and correspondence
  • Ensuring compliance and regulatory standards are maintained
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new clients
  • Supporting the wider administration team as required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous administration or office experience preferred
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and client-focused approach
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within financial services
  • Financial services experience is advantageous but not essential
