Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in the Haslingden area. This full-time role is due to start in September 2026 and will be an ongoing maternity cover, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a thriving educational setting.

Contract Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover

Daily Rate: £168.80– £215.68 per day (dependant on experience)

About the Role:

• Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of learning abilities
• Encourage a love for reading, writing and effective communication
• Monitor and support student progress through meaningful assessment and feedback
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and departmental initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Have strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature (KS3 & KS4)
• Be confident in planning and delivering creative and inclusive lessons
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Be committed to inspiring young people and improving outcomes for all learners
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote student wellbeing
