Location: Basildon, Essex

Salary: £12.71 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday. Fixed shifts available: 6:00am – 2:00pm (early shift) or 2:00pm – 10:00pm (late shift). Overtime available. Please specify your preferred shift when applying.

About Us

We are a well-established bespoke fitted furniture manufacturer based in Basildon, Essex. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join our production team.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating woodworking machinery and supporting the packing process to ensure efficient production and consistently high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
• Read and interpret job instruction sheets
• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy
• Ensure work is completed within required deadlines
• Minimise waste during production processes
• Assist with packing finished products
• Support other areas of the factory when required (including holiday/sickness cover)
• Maintain clear communication with colleagues and supervisors

Requirements

• Good standard of Maths and English
• Ability to read measurements (e.g. using a tape measure)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and adaptable
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
• Flexible approach to overtime when required

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience operating woodworking machinery
• Forklift licence
