Purchase Ledger Clerk (Procurement Finance)

ESLINGKENNY

We’re working with a growing, project-led business looking to hire a Purchase Ledger Clerk into their Procurement Finance team.

This isn’t a typical purchase ledger role. You’ll be supporting the financial management of client-funded procurement projects, ensuring supplier payments are accurate, tracked against budget, and delivered on time.

It’s a great opportunity for someone with around 12 months’ experience who wants to move into a more involved, project-facing finance environment.

The Role

Sitting within a specialist Procurement Finance function, you’ll play a key role in managing supplier payments and tracking spend across multiple live projects.

The team works closely with internal project stakeholders and external suppliers, meaning accuracy, organisation, and clear communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices, credit notes, and proformas
  • Ensuring invoices are correctly authorised by procurement teams
  • Managing supplier queries and liaising with internal stakeholders
  • Setting up and supporting regular supplier payment runs
  • Maintaining accurate records across finance and procurement systems
  • Daily bank reconciliations across multiple client accounts
  • Monitoring project spend against budgets and flagging discrepancies
  • Supporting month-end processes and creditor analysis
  • Ensuring all processes and deadlines are met within a structured environment

Development Opportunity

This role offers exposure beyond core purchase ledger, including:

  • Supporting financial tracking across procurement-led projects
  • Communicating with client representatives on budgets and spend
  • Assisting with cost reconciliation and revenue recognition
  • Gaining insight into how finance supports project delivery

About You

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a purchase ledger role
  • Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Organised and able to manage workload in a fast-paced environment

Why Apply?

  • Join a specialist Procurement Finance team with real responsibility
  • Gain exposure to project-based and client-facing finance
  • Broaden your experience beyond transactional finance
  • Work in a structured, fast-paced, and collaborative environment

Salary & Benefits

  • £28,000 – £32,000 depending on experience
  • 9:30am – 5:30pm with flexible working
  • Hybrid working (work from home on Fridays)
  • Employee-owned business
  • Tax-free profit share bonus (up to £3,600)
  • Additional discretionary bonus (typically 10–20%)
  • Private healthcare (after probation)
  • Complimentary personal travel insurance
  • Daily lunch provided
