Part-Time Management Accountant | Basildon | 30 Hours Per Week | Flexible Working

A long established and highly respected manufacturing and distribution business based in Basildon is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team on a part-time basis.

Operating within both UK and international markets, the business supplies specialist medical products to public sector and private customers and offers a stable, collaborative SME environment.

This is a hands-on position suited to a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working closely with senior leadership and can operate independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Full month-end processes including journals, accruals and reconciliations
• Cashflow forecasting and budgeting support
• Variance analysis with clear commercial commentary
• KPI reporting and financial analysis
• Margin, stock and inventory analysis
• Oversight of aged debt and working capital
• Supporting payroll, VAT and external audit requirements
• Identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities

About You

• Experienced in producing full management accounts independently
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Comfortable in a hands on, owner led SME environment
• Experience within stock based, manufacturing or distribution businesses advantageous
• AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA preferred but not essential
