Senior IFA Administrator

Amersham, Buckinghamshire (local to train station)

Fully office-based

Monday - Friday | 9:00am–5:30pm

£35,000 - £45,000 DOE

A long-established, high-quality IFA practice based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire is looking to appoint an experienced Senior IFA Administrator to join their close-knit team.

This role is a key hire for the business, created to help maintain service levels for a high-net-worth client base during a period of continued growth.

The Opportunity

  • Well-established IFA firm with a stable, loyal client bank
  • Focus on existing HNW clients, not high-volume new business
  • Small, supportive team environment (3 staff total)
  • Opportunity to step into a senior, trusted admin role with some paraplanner responsibilities without needing previous “senior” title experience

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day administration and back-office function, supporting the sole adviser and working closely with two other experienced team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end IFA administration and workflow oversight
  • Pensions-focused administration (approx. 65% of business)
  • LOAs, fund switches and client servicing
  • Supporting suitability and report writing (some paraplanning exposure)
  • Maintaining high compliance and service standards
  • Acting as a senior point of support within the office

This is not large-team people-management role, but you will naturally take ownership of processes and ensure the smooth running of the admin function.

What They’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in an IFA administration role (ideally)
  • Strong pensions knowledge (RO4 highly desirable)
  • At least a couple of RO exams completed, with the ambition to progress to Level 4
  • Comfortable stepping into a senior position with autonomy and responsibility
  • Looking to develop long-term within administration/paraplanning (not a trainee adviser route)
  • Professional, reliable and confident working in a small, established team

Future exams and qualifications will be fully funded.

Working Pattern & Benefits

  • Fully office-based (occasional ad-hoc WFH only in emergencies)
  • Free on-site parking
  • Excellent transport links (200m from station, local amenities nearby)
  • 22 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing with service
  • Office closes over Christmas (taken from annual allowance)
  • Aviva pension (5% employer / 3% employee)

Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Initial compatibility discussion (face-to-face preferred, Teams possible)
  • Stage 2: Formal face-to-face interview with the director and another team member
  • Includes a short written assessment (basic skills / pensions-focused questions)
  • Feedback provided within 48 hours

The firm would ideally like someone to start ASAP, but is willing to wait up to 3 months for the right candidate.
