Private Client Tax Manager

Overview
A well-established and growing accountancy firm is seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of clients while delivering high-quality personal tax compliance and advisory services. You'll play a key role in building client relationships, supporting junior staff, and contributing to the continued growth of the tax function.

The Role

You will take ownership of a portfolio of private clients, ensuring compliance obligations are met while also identifying and delivering advisory opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a portfolio of private clients, including HNWIs and complex cases
• Reviewing personal tax returns and ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations
• Providing advice on a range of personal tax matters and planning opportunities
• Building strong, long-term client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Reviewing work-in-progress and supporting billing processes
• Contributing to business development, including proposals and client meetings
• Leading, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior team members
• Supporting workflow planning and ensuring deadlines are met

About You

• Professionally qualified (ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent) or qualified by experience
• Strong background in private client tax within practice
• Confident managing client relationships and handling complex queries
• Good technical knowledge with the ability to research and apply tax legislation
• Strong communication skills, able to explain complex issues clearly
• Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff
