We are seeking an experienced, meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join a team in the investment industry in London. The role involves overseeing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting financial operations within the finance department.

Description

  • Maintain and update accurate financial records and ledgers, ensuring full compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss accounts, for internal and external reporting.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all accounts are accurate and up to date, while managing accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently.
  • Monitor budgets and support financial forecasting activities to aid informed management decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure all submissions are accurate and completed within required deadlines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance overall workflow efficiency.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing the necessary documentation and liaising with external auditors when required.
  • Ensure all financial documentation is properly organised, securely stored, and easily accessible to the finance team.

Profile

A successful Senior Bookkeeper must have:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, including strong double-entry skills and responsibility for maintaining purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, supported by hands-on experience with VAT returns and payroll for approximately 100 employees (including P11Ds).
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as Sage Line 50 and Xero, with the ability to support system changes and upgrades.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across the business.
  • A professional qualification in accounting or finance is preferred.
