Assistant Accountant - Part Time

Alexander Daniels are recruiting for an part-time Assistant Accountant (3 Days)for a business based in Birmingham. This role offers an opportunity for you to take on a role that is rounded with a variation of tasks. The successful candidate must have previous experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Finance in the day to day bookkeeping.
  • Processing accruals, prepayments, depreciation and monthly & year end journals
  • Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers, including postings and account reconciliations
  • Reporting on debtors and creditors and delivering and dealing with invoice queries/disputes
  • Completing Balance sheet, Control Accounts, Bank & Company Credit Cards reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Reviewing & Submitting VAT and annual returns, reconciling to the accounting system
  • Assist with the yearend process and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Other Adhoc tasks as required.

Essential requirements:

  • AAT Qualified or active studier.
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience in Xero (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar role (1-2 years)
