HR Operations Team Lead / Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Operations Team Lead / Manager to join a busy and evolving People Team in West London for 6 months. 

This is a key role focused on the operational and transactional delivery of HR services, ensuring that all processes run smoothly, efficiently, and to deadline.

The Role: Reporting into the Assistant Director of People Services, you will take ownership of core HR operations, acting as a crucial link between the People Team and Payroll. Your focus will be on delivering a high-quality, consistent, and timely HR service across the organisation.

This is a purely operational HR role, with no employee relations or casework responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing end-to-end HR operational processes
  • Ensuring critical deadlines are met (including payroll, return-to-work follow-ups, and administrative timelines)
  • Acting as the central liaison between HR and Payroll to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Driving consistency and continuous improvement across HR processes
  • Supporting the optimisation of a recently implemented HR system
  • Potential line management of 2–3 HR Advisors (TBC)

About You

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.

You will ideally have:

  • A CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification
  • Proven experience within an HR operations or shared services environment
  • Strong understanding of transactional HR processes and payroll coordination
  • Experience supporting HR system implementations or transitions (highly desirable)
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise deadlines
  • A methodical approach with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
