An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially minded Buyer to join a fast-paced Procurement & Supply Chain team within a growing manufacturing organisation based in Tamworth.
Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 depending on experience. Please note this is a fully office-based position.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in purchasing, sourcing, or procurement who enjoys building supplier relationships, negotiating best value, and ensuring products are delivered on time and in full. Working closely with internal stakeholders across supply chain, operations, commercial, finance, and logistics, you’ll play a key role in supporting procurement strategy and driving operational efficiency.
As the Buyer, your key responsibilities:
Source and purchase products in line with business requirements and demand forecasts
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms
Support procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality, and service
Work closely with supply chain planning and inventory teams to maintain stock availability
Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and service levels
Identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives
Manage supplier onboarding and support audit/compliance activities
Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within ERP/MRP systems
Produce procurement reports and KPI tracking data
Support new product introductions and cross-functional projects
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, or sourcing
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Experience using ERP/MRP systems
Strong Excel and analytical skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proactive, solutions-focused, and team-oriented approach
Desirable:
Exposure to supplier management or sourcing activities
Understanding of contracts or supplier risk management
CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous
