Finance Officer | Rugby | Up to £35,000 | Office-Based | Permanent

Macildowie are working with a well-established engineering and project-focused business to recruit a Finance Officer into a varied and hands-on finance role with supervisory responsibility.

This position plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business across projects, cashflow management, reporting, and financial controls. Alongside day-to-day finance responsibilities, you’ll also provide leadership and support to a Finance Administrator, helping to ensure finance processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned to operational needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a broad finance role within a project-led environment and is looking to develop their commercial exposure and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate financial records across projects and business operations

Supporting month-end processes, reporting, and audit preparation

Monitoring cashflow, debtors, WIP, cost-to-complete and margin tracking

Processing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable

Managing supplier payments, expenses, and company credit card reconciliations

Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Raising and managing purchase orders and supplier records

Supporting payroll processes and expense approvals in line with HMRC regulations

Providing day-to-day support and line management to the Finance Administrator

Driving process improvements and identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency

About You

Experience within a finance, accounts, or finance operations role

Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations

Confident working within a fast-paced, project or operational environment

Strong Excel and general systems skills

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

AAT qualified or equivalent experience

Experience within engineering, construction, manufacturing, or technical sectors would be advantageous

Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be beneficial
