Job Title: School Cleaning Supervisor

Location: Ilford, East London / Essex
Hours: 29 hours per week
Contract: Long-term with the possibility of permanent

• Monday – Thursday:
  
  6:00am – 9:00am and 2:00pm – 5:00pm
• Friday:
  
  12:45pm – 2:45pm

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Cleaning Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day cleaning operations within our school. This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for someone with previous cleaning experience who is confident managing staff while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess daily and ongoing site cleaning needs and identify priority areas
• Allocate cleaning staff to areas, ensuring effective coverage across the school
  
  • Please note: most staff work consistently within the same zones, so allocations are straightforward
• Maintain clear communication and effective handovers with the Cleaning Manager and daytime cleaner
• Monitor cleaning standards and address any issues, with support from the Cleaning Manager
• Provide guidance and support to cleaning staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
• Undertake hands-on cleaning duties as required
• Ensure all cleaning is carried out safely and in line with school policies and procedures

About You

• Previous experience in a cleaning or supervisory role is desirable
• A good understanding of cleaning standards and procedures
• Able to organise staff and workloads effectively
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Committed to maintaining a clean, safe environment for pupils, staff, and visitors
