RG Consultancy are working with a company based in Bolton who are looking to add a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who's ready to take ownership of key accounting duties and support the wider finance function in a hands-on role.

• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts

• Accruals, prepayments, and journal postings

• Balance sheet reconciliations

• Maintain the fixed asset register

• VAT returns and compliance support

• Support year-end processes and liaise with auditors

• Provide insight and reporting to help with financial decision-making

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar role

• AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience)

• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar)

• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles

• High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

• Proactive attitude and a team player

• Study support for ACCA/CIMA (if desired)
