Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 + bonus + benefits

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Trainee / Junior Paraplanner to join a collaborative and forward-thinking paraplanning team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 6 months’ report writing exposure within a financial planning environment, who is actively working towards their Diploma (Level 4) and keen to progress technically.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full advice process, supporting experienced paraplanners and financial planners while continuing to develop your technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and drafting of Suitability Reports and recommendation letters
  • Support annual client reviews, including valuations and data gathering
  • Conduct research across pensions, investments, ISAs and protection products
  • Liaise with product providers to obtain illustrations and policy information
  • Support advisers with client meeting preparation and follow-ups
  • Ensure client files meet FCA and internal compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate records within CRM/back-office systems
  • Contribute to process improvements and paraplanning best practice

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience writing or supporting suitability reports
  • Experience within a UK financial planning / IFA firm (e.g. Administrator, Adviser Support)
  • Currently working towards Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of pensions, investments, ISAs and protection products
  • Strong attention to detail and written communication skills
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • Exposure to annual reviews and the wider financial planning process
  • Experience with tools such as Intelligent Office, Voyant, FE Analytics or similar
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations and suitability requirements
