Headstar
You know Xero inside out. Not just using it - actually keeping things clean, accurate and under control.
This Bookkeeper/Accounts assistant role gives you exactly that, with the added bonus of flexibility from day one.
£30k - £35k, hybrid working (1 day in the office once trained), and a temp role with a genuine opportunity to go permanent if it's the right fit both ways.
As a Bookkeeper/Accounts assistant, you'll take ownership of all transaction-level finance. That means purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger, plus reconciling accounts, supplier statements and running weekly bank recs. It's steady, hands-on work where your attention to detail really counts.
Xero is non-negotiable. You'll need to be confident using it day-to-day and comfortable keeping everything accurate and up to date. If you've used automation features, great - but what matters most is that you know how to run a clean set of books.
You'll be joining a small, well-organised team who value reliability. There's no firefighting here - just a business that needs someone dependable to keep things ticking over.
To be a good fit for this Bookkeeper/Accounts assistant role, you'll be AAT qualified (or similar experience) with at least 1-2 years post-qualified experience. You'll be comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for your own workload.
Benefits are simple but strong - flexible hybrid working, a stable environment, and the chance to turn a temp role into something long-term if you want it. It's a good way to get your foot in the door without committing upfront.
If you're a Bookkeeper/Accounts assistant looking for a role where your Xero skills are genuinely valued - and where a temp contract could lead to something permanent - this is worth a conversation.
