We are working on behalf of a welcoming and friendly primary school in Barking that is looking to recruit a Midday Assistant to support pupils during lunchtime.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive difference in a school environment.

The Role

As a Midday Assistant, you will play a key part in ensuring a safe, happy, and engaging lunchtime experience for pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising children in the dining hall and playground
• Promoting good behaviour and positive social interactions
• Supporting children with any issues or concerns that arise
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about working with children
• Calm, patient, and approachable
• A strong team player with good communication skills
• Proactive and confident in handling situations independently

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Previous experience working with children
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 6 months
• Ability to provide relevant documentation

Desirable:

• Experience working in a school setting
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
