SEND Teacher of Religious Education (RE)

This is a specialist SEND teaching role within a supportive and inclusive educational setting. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Teacher of Religious Education with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.

This role involves delivering Religious Education to children and young people who are hearing impaired, on the autistic spectrum, and/or have complex sensory or communication challenges. The successful candidate will be passionate about making RE accessible, meaningful and engaging for all learners.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver adaptable, inclusive RE lessons tailored to a wide range of SEND needs
  • Support pupils’ spiritual, emotional and moral development in a nurturing environment
  • Use creative, multi-sensory and communication-friendly teaching approaches
  • Work closely with specialist staff, support workers and external professionals
  • Create a calm, structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching Religious Education
  • Experience working in a SEND setting, or a strong commitment to SEND education
  • An understanding of the needs of pupils who are hearing impaired and/or autistic, or who have complex communication needs
  • A patient, flexible and child-centred approach
