SRM Recruitment are partnering with a growing SME business in Hertfordshire who are looking to appoint an experienced hands-on finance leader to support the CFO and wider finance function through a particularly busy period. This is not a heavily corporate or “sit above the business” Finance Director role.

The business are seeking someone pragmatic, commercially aware and operationally strong who can work collaboratively alongside the existing finance team to help strengthen finance processes, reporting routines, controls and overall visibility.

Key areas of focus are likely to include:

P&L and reporting visibility

FP&A support and analysis

Process improvement

Controls and month-end discipline

Supporting finance operations in a hands-on capacity

Bringing structure and routine into a busy SME environment

The ideal individual will likely:

• Have strong SME / mid-sized business experience

• Be commercially minded and analytical

• Be hands-on and comfortable rolling sleeves up

• Have experience improving processes and reporting routines

• Be collaborative in style rather than hierarchical

• Be immediately available or available at short notice

Predominantly office based, although flexibility around 3-4 days onsite could be considered for the right individual.
