We are recruiting for a Senior Claims Adjuster - Financial Lines on behalf of a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate.

The successful candidate will adjust a portfolio of Professional Lines claims including FI, D&O and E&O.


Key Responsibilities

  • Setting up, investigating and authorising claim payments within specified authority.
  • Reviewing incoming claim correspondence on existing claims.
  • Preparing claims correspondence on questions of coverage and claims value.
  • Instructing and managing experts.
  • Negotiating and settling claims within specified authority and recommending reserves beyond authority.
  • Reviewing and maintaining caseload.
  • Drafting / amending declinatures and referring into the head of PL and / or European Head of Claims for approval.
  • Managing and handling claims that fall outside any delegated authority.
  • Carrying out aged file / static claims reviews as required.
  • Proactively managing vendors, such as defence counsel and coverage counsel.
  • Working with underwriters to provide updates, evaluate exposures, and assist with development of policy wordings and other contractual documents.

Key Requirements

  • 10+ years of financial lines complex claims handling experience on both Company and Lloyd’s platforms.
  • Excellent policy wordings knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the London Market is essential.
  • Proven ability to work with senior management, claims / legal professionals, other insurers, brokers, affiliated companies and clients.
  • Excellent technical skills; coverage / defence / reserving / file management / KPI’s.
  • Ability to present well to senior management (Large Loss meetings etc).
  • Some understanding of portfolio management and be able to interpret report on Claims MI and use EDW.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office, Genius, TRAX, Open Box, ECF2.
