Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA)

The Role

We are seeking compassionate and committed Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SENTAs) to work in schools across the Wirral. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential in an inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
• Supporting pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social development
• Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities
• Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
• Supporting pupils with personal care where required

About You

• Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs (school-based experience preferred)
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant qualifications desirable but not essential
