Vacancy: Development Funding Manager

Central London – Zone 1| 37 hours per week | Interim role

Our client – based in Central London – are currently looking for a Development Funding Manager to join their central finance function on interim basis. The role is 37.00 hours per week, and the hiring manager is offering a excellent hybrid working pattern 1-2 days per week!

Start date: Dependent on notice period, ideally May 2026

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Leading on the donor engagement and funding relationships, coordinating outreach to foundation, government, individual and HNWI donors; represented the organisation to donors and strengthened cultivation and stewardship strategies.
  • Delivering grant and funding management, drafting and securing high-quality grant proposals, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and overseeing grant agreements and reporting
  • Producing donor-focused financial reports, proposal budgets, and funding updates in line with grant specifications.
  • Developing and guiding fundraising strategy and funding forecasts, advising leadership on resource mobilisation to meet organisational goals.
  • Conducting donor research and pipeline development, identifying prospects and maintaining a strong funding pipeline.
  • Coordinating team planning and processes to support effective donor engagement, grant delivery, and fundraising operations.
  • Producing and managing donor communications and reporting, including board updates and stewardship materials.
  • Maintaining and improving grant tracking, donor data systems, and funding reporting infrastructure to support fundraising effectiveness

Experience required:

  • Experience in fundraising, Funding/ Grants/ donor relations, or development within the non-profit or international advocacy sector
  • A track record of engaging with foundations and government officials to secure and manage grants
  • Enthusiasm, initiative and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including a systematic approach to maintaining donor tracking systems
