About the Role

We are looking to appoint a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist school in Eastbourne from September 2026. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment where staff are committed to helping every pupil thrive both academically and personally.

The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and moderate to severe learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils' EHCP outcomes and personal development goals
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and professionals
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate assessment and progress records
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working within SEN, alternative provision, or specialist settings
  • Knowledge of autism, communication needs, and adaptive teaching strategies
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A nurturing, patient, and flexible approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
