Stevenage with Hybrid Working
At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people. At the IET you’ll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible. We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.
What you’ll be doing
As our Scholarship Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of our scholarship programmes, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly from application through to award and beyond.
You’ll coordinate the end-to-end administration of our schemes, managing timelines, documentation and communications with applicants, volunteer assessors, and internal teams. From organising assessment panels to tracking progress and maintaining records, you’ll be at the heart of keeping things organised, accurate and on track.
You’ll also act as a key point of contact for scholarship recipients, supporting them throughout their journey and helping to create a positive and engaging experience. Alongside this, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the IET (including Marketing, Events, Membership and Fundraising) to support engagement activities and raise awareness of our programmes.
Finally, a big part of the role will involve working with data and systems. You’ll maintain accurate records, manage databases, and support reporting, ensuring information is reliable and up to date. This is a varied role that combines administration, coordination, and stakeholder engagement, with plenty of opportunity to get involved across different parts of the awards portfolio.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We’re looking for someone with strong organisational and administrative skills who enjoys managing processes and keeping things running efficiently. You’ll be comfortable handling multiple tasks at once, with a high level of attention to detail and a focus on accuracy, particularly when working with data, systems and reporting.
Strong communication skills are also important as you’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, volunteers, and scholarship recipients. You’ll be confident building relationships, responding to enquiries, and providing clear, professional communication. You’ll also be someone who can handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, while maintaining a high standard of service.
Most importantly, you’ll be proactive, reliable and collaborative, someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys being part of a team that delivers meaningful programmes.
We’d love to get to know you
Is imposter syndrome creeping in? Don’t let it stop you; if you meet most (not all!) of the criteria, please apply. We’d much rather hear from you and review your application than miss out altogether.
Please download the full Job Description for a little more information about the role; but also, keep in mind that we’re open to discussing flexible ways of working, including reduced hours and working in an agile way, supported by a hybrid working framework that allows you to find the best place to do your best work.
