Solicitor / Associate – Clinical Negligence| Leading Specialist Team - NQ+
Newcastle upon Tyne

I’m currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor or Associate to join a highly regarded Clinical Risk team within a leading national healthcare litigation practice.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest and most specialist clinical negligence teams in the country, working at the forefront of complex and high-profile healthcare litigation.

The team is widely recognised for its market-leading expertise and has been involved in some of the most significant clinical negligence work in recent years, including Supreme Court cases and multi-million-pound claims.

The role will involve:

  • Managing a varied defendant clinical negligence caseload
  • Acting for NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, medical defence organisations and private healthcare providers
  • Handling complex and high-value claims, including catastrophic injury cases
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and legal documents
  • Conducting negotiations and mediations
  • Attending court hearings, including CMCs and applications
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear and commercially focused advice
  • Supporting wider team initiatives including training, articles and client seminars
The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor with experience in clinical negligence or defendant personal injury
  • Ideally have experience within an NHS Resolution panel firm
  • Be highly organised with strong technical ability
  • Be confident managing a complex caseload
  • Have a commercial, client-focused approach
  • Enjoy working collaboratively within a high-performing team
  • Be interested in supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
This opportunity offers:

  • Exposure to some of the most complex clinical negligence work in the UK
  • High levels of client contact and responsibility
  • Excellent training, support and development opportunities
  • A collaborative and specialist team environment
  • Flexible and hybrid working within a leading national practice
