Wakefield are seeking an Information Governance Officer to join the Corporate Information Governance Team. This role is crucial for ensuring the Council's compliance with information governance standards, including relevant legislation and policy. This position is ideal for someone with exposure to Freedom of Information and Data Protection.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the Corporate Information Governance Team in ensuring the Council’s legislative compliance with the Information Commissioner.
  • Assist in managing the Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Information Security, and Records/Archives Management functions of the Council.
  • Help ensure the secure and efficient archiving of information.
  • Contribute to the delivery of key tasks and objectives for the Corporate Information Governance Team.
  • Handle complex subject access requests including necessary redactions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Freedom of Information and Data Protection.
  • Proven competence in all aspects of communications.
  • Strong data analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent team working skills and a strong customer focus.
