A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced full or part timeSenior Payroll Administrator to join a friendly and progressive accountancy practice in Chester.

THE ROLE
As part of a busy payroll team, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of small and high-volume payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and delivering excellent service to clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
- Managing auto-enrolment pensions
- Handling payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
- Liaising with HMRC and pension providers
- Processing BACS, PAYE, CIS, holiday pay, SMP/SSP
- Managing starters and leavers (P45s/P46s)
- Supporting P11D processing
- Staying up to date with payroll legislation
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members
- You will receive full system training and ongoing support within a friendly, collaborative team environment.
ABOUT YOU
- Proven payroll experience (accountancy practice or bureau preferred, but in-house considered)
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes
- Experience with Sage 50 Payroll or BrightPay (training provided)
- Ability to manage multiple payrolls and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive, organised, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
SALARY & BENEFITS
- Salary up to £31,000 (depending on experience)
