About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering a specialist compliance project aimed at ensuring the Council’s entire property portfolio meets all statutory requirements. Working within a dedicated unit in the Facilities Management (FM) function, you will collaborate closely with a specialist project team, including two project-specific lawyers responsible for reviewing property agreements and clarifying statutory compliance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections across the Council’s property estate to assess statutory compliance.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and take appropriate action to rectify issues.
  • Manage and coordinate third-party contractors to deliver remedial works.
  • Monitor progress and ensure all required actions are completed effectively and on time.
  • Accurately maintain and update compliance tracking systems.
  • Work collaboratively with legal and compliance colleagues to ensure clear accountability and adherence to statutory obligations.
About You

We are looking for a candidate who brings:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Strong working knowledge of property-related statutory compliance requirements.
  • A sound understanding of building pathology and M&E (mechanical and electrical) systems.
  • Proven experience in managing contractors and delivering property-related projects.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a specialist team environment.
Additional Information
  • This is a fixed-term role linked to a defined compliance project.
  • The primary base will be the Council’s Civic Centre; however, extensive travel across the Borough is required.
  • Please note that access to a vehicle may be necessary, as public transport options to some sites are limited.
