Humanities Teacher – Durham Secondary School

I'm recruiting a Humanities Teacher for a Durham secondary school starting September 2026. This is a full-time position teaching History, Geography, or RE across KS3 and KS4 in a school with a strong Humanities department and supportive leadership.

What you'll be doing:

  • Teaching your Humanities subject across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
  • Working collaboratively with the Humanities department

  • Contributing to extracurricular activities and the wider school community

You'll need:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Degree in History, Geography, RE, or related Humanities subject
  • Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level (ECTs welcome)
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for your subject
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress
