Robert Half is partnering with a well established business within the manufacturing sector looking to appoint a motivated and detail focused Assistant Accountant. Supporting the Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth day to day finance operations.

Wirral based, onsite.

37 hours per week.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career in a hands on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
• Prepare and post journal entries (including accruals and prepayments).
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide accounts payable support (holiday cover).
• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Assist with VAT return preparation and submission.
• Produce financial reports and analysis as required
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
