We are working with a well-established and growing business in the Hemel Hempstead area who are looking to recruit an Office Administrator on a 9-month maternity cover basis.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting both operational and customer administration within a busy and fast-paced office environment. Working as part of a small and supportive team, you will play a key role in keeping day-to-day processes running smoothly.

Key responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and updating the internal B2B system
  • Adding new clients and updating customer records
  • Uploading documents including quotes, contracts, and job-related paperwork
  • Allocating job dockets to field-based staff
  • Typing up and updating system specifications
  • Supporting with customer quotations
  • Ordering stock when required and liaising with suppliers
  • Processing returns, replacements, and supplier credits
  • Logging projects onto Xero accounting software
  • Managing incoming calls and customer enquiries
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider team
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Previous office administration experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good IT skills, with confident use of Excel (essential)
  • Confident telephone manner and comfortable handling incoming calls
  • Experience with accounting or business systems such as Xero (desirable)
  • Exposure to stock management or ordering processes (beneficial)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
  • A good sense of humour and enjoys being part of a close-knit team
