This role is ideal for a commercially astute employment law specialist with a strong track record across both contentious and non-contentious matters. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of solicitors and legal professionals, driving performance, client satisfaction and profitability
• Oversee caseload allocation, risk management and compliance with professional standards
• Appoint supervisors and delegate responsibilities effectively across the team
• Mentor and supervise junior colleagues, ensuring adherence to best practices and professional obligations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, providing strategic and commercially focused legal advice
• Contribute to departmental strategy, performance reviews, and business planning at a senior management level
• Champion knowledge sharing, webinars, and thought leadership initiatives within employment law
• Represent the department in business development, client presentations, and marketing campaigns
• Support team CPD, training and structured career development
• Manage complex and high-value employment matters, including sensitive disputes and negotiations
• Handle client complaints professionally and efficiently when required

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Solicitor with extensive experience in employment law
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a legal team, with strong mentoring skills
• Excellent relationship management abilities, with experience engaging key stakeholders and clients
• Strategic business development mindset and a track record of identifying and winning new work
• Confidence in handling complex, high-value cases with a commercial and pragmatic approach
• Experience across both contentious and non-contentious employment law is preferred
