Electrician

• Pay Rate: £18.85 per hour paye
• Location: Rochdale Council, Green Lane, Heywood, OL10 2DY
• Job Type: Full-time, 3-month contract temporary

Rochdale Council are looking for a qualified Electrician to join our Managed Property Services (MPS) team. This role involves being part of a reactive and planned maintenance team, providing high-quality building maintenance services to the customers of Rochdale Borough Council. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high regard for customer care, efficiency, and compliance with customer and contract requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Carry out various electrical installations and repairs within set timescales.
• Ensure all electrical works, including installation, repairs, diagnostic fault finding, and testing, are carried out properly and in accordance with required standards and legislation.
• Undertake Electrical Installation Condition Reports on a variety of premises to ensure statutory compliance.
• Service and repair various mechanical installations and undertake works on green technologies and renewable energy sources.
• Work on a variety of control systems including fire alarm systems, CCTV, and lighting installations.
• Ensure that tools and materials are used appropriately and that equipment or materials are left in a safe and secure state.
• Organise and order materials as required and assist in the training of apprentices.
• Use the council’s asset management software and designated mobile technology to accurately detail all costs associated with tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds Electrical Theory Parts 1 & 2, NVQ L3, City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection, 18th Edition Wiring Regs).
• Vast work experience across the trade.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical condition to meet the demands of the role, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
• A Valid Enhanced DBS check clearance.
• Proficiency in using electronic software for reporting and asset management.
• Flexible Working hours (37 hours a week).
• Company Van Provided
• Full UK Driving Licence is required
