Are you an experienced Company Secretary looking for a role where you can truly influence governance at a strategic level?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, internationally operating organisation where you’ll work closely with senior leadership, supporting multiple businesses across the UK and overseas. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping governance standards, supporting the Board, and ensuring the smooth running of a complex, multi-entity structure.

The Opportunity

In this varied and visible role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior stakeholders, taking ownership of corporate governance, compliance, and company secretarial activities across an international group.

You’ll enjoy a high level of autonomy, exposure to strategic decision-making, and the opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading corporate governance and ensuring compliance with legislation (including Companies Act 2006)
  • Supporting and attending board meetings and AGMs (agendas, packs, minutes, actions)
  • Managing statutory registers and Companies House filings
  • Handling shareholder communications and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
  • Overseeing insurance processes, renewals, and broker relationships
  • Coordinating banking relationships and funding activities
  • Providing guidance on legal and regulatory matters (with external advisors where needed)
  • Supporting risk management, compliance frameworks, and audit processes
  • Assisting with tax matters and HMRC enquiries
  • Coordinating intercompany transactions and group policies
  • Supporting remuneration and benefits processes 

About You

You’ll be a detail-driven and commercially aware professional who is confident working with senior stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory requirements
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Able to operate both strategically and hands-on
  • Professional, discreet, and able to handle confidential information
  • A collaborative and proactive team player

Desirable:

  • ACCA, CIMA, AAT or similar qualification
  • Experience in the role
