NJR Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected IFA firm to recruit a Trainee Adviser to join their expanding Financial Planning team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Diploma-qualified financial services professional to step into a client-facing role, managing an existing portfolio of clients while delivering high-quality financial planning advice and ongoing servicing.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing your own bank of clients, delivering both remote and face-to-face financial planning advice, and ensuring an exceptional client experience at all stages of the relationship.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client review meetings (both virtual and face-to-face)
- Undertake research, analysis and due diligence to support advice delivery
- Carry out financial calculations (including pensions, CGT, IHT and income tax)
- Oversee provider illustrations, applications and investment recommendations
- Identify new business opportunities and cross-referrals within the wider group
- Manage ongoing client relationships and oversee post-review actions
- Produce suitability reports across a range of financial planning areas
What do we need from you?
Essential
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience within financial services
- Strong knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance requirements
- Background in paraplanning or senior administration
- Level 4 Diploma qualified (essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines effectively
- A professional, client-focused approach with strong attention to detail
- Driving license and own vehicle
Desirable:
- Experience working with private clients, corporate clients or trusts
- Previous client-facing experience (face-to-face or virtual)
- Working towards Chartered status
- Experience working within a collaborative team environment
