Reed FE is working in partnership with an FE provider to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate engineering professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to learners preparing for careers in the agricultural and land-based engineering industries.

The Role

As Lecturer, you will plan and deliver engaging practical and theoretical sessions, assess learners against national vocational standards, and contribute to the ongoing development of a high-performing engineering department. You will help ensure provision meets awarding body requirements, industry expectations, and delivers excellent learner outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and deliver land-based and agricultural engineering curriculum content to a consistently high standard
  • Lead learners through practical, theoretical and assessment activities aligned to industry standards
  • Carry out vocational assessment in line with awarding body and internal quality processes
  • Use digital systems effectively to support programme administration and assessment
  • Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement across the curriculum area
  • Support the achievement of departmental KPIs including learner success, retention and achievement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and internal delivery partners to enhance the learner experience
  • Build strong relationships with employers and industry stakeholders to enhance provision and income opportunities
  • Support marketing, recruitment and employer engagement activities
  • Actively participate in professional development and performance review processes
  • Promote and uphold high standards of health & safety, safeguarding, equality, diversity and data protection

About You

Essential / Desirable Criteria:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational area
  • Level 5 or 6 qualification in Engineering (desirable)
  • Relevant teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
  • Assessor qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Internal Verifier qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Level 2 Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering and assessing vocational engineering programmes
  • Industry experience within agricultural engineering, engines, welding and fabrication, and machinery technology
  • Strong digital skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of assessment and internal quality assurance processes
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity
  • Ability to build effective relationships with learners, colleagues, employers and industry partners
  • Organised, adaptable and forward-thinking, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners
