Transport Coordinator

£35K per annum

My client is seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to join their team in Bracknell. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the field teams whilst ensuring customers are experiencing the highest level of service. You will:

• Plan and coordinate daily schedules for Waste Services vehicles, maintaining clear communication with drivers and loaders to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor and manage driver performance, ensuring standards are consistently met
• Ensure all operational activities are carried out in line with health & safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies
• Oversee vehicle compliance, including servicing and MOT schedules, and manage contingencies such as staff absences or vehicle breakdowns
• Track and improve KPI performance, providing weekly reports to the Transport Manager (including vehicle usage, mileage, and pay-by-weight data)
• Manage driver holidays, attendance, and timekeeping
• Investigate and resolve missed collections promptly, keeping customers informed and managing expectations effectively
• Handle both internal and external communications in a professional manner, resolving queries and complaints efficiently, and escalating issues where necessary

The ideal candidate will:

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in transport or logistics planning
• Have high attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability for performance and outcomes
• Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
• Have strong commercial awareness combined with a customer-focused approach
• Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
• Have experience in data analysis, extraction, and reporting
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office and vehicle tracking systems
• Have effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
• Have strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships

Working hours are Monday to Friday 6:30am to 4:30am
