We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Co-ordinator to join our team. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for the welfare, behaviour, and attendance of a specific year group.
Working closely with the Head of Year and the Senior Leadership Team, you will help build a disciplined yet deeply caring ethos, ensuring our students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn every single day.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Welfare: Act as a key worker for 'at risk' groups (including SEND and EHCP students), monitoring personal issues and implementing support plans to promote wellbeing.
- Behaviour & Attendance: Support the school's high expectations by managing de-escalation, creating individual behaviour plans, and collaborating with the Attendance Officer to improve student engagement.
- Safeguarding: Take a central role in safeguarding cases, ensuring all incidents are actioned appropriately and working as a bridge between families and external agencies like social services.
- Data & Insights: Use our management information systems to track trends in behaviour and pastoral care, providing half-termly reports to help shape school culture.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead meetings with families and represent the school in professional inter-agency settings to secure the best outcomes for our students.
About You
We are looking for someone with a non-judgmental approach and the tenacity to persevere even when challenges seem insurmountable.
Essential Requirements:
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent).
- Experience in motivating students and using data to track progress.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with staff, parents, and students.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection best practices.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in an educational setting or working with external agencies.
- Knowledge of Trauma Perceptive Practice (TPP) or SEMH interventions.
- IT literacy (specifically Google Workspace).
